Muxiang is the general name of the Asteraceae plant Yunmuxiang and Chuanmuxiang. Yunmuxiang (scientific name: Saussurea costus), also known as Guangmuxiang or Qingmuxiang, belongs to the genus Saussurea of the Compositae. Dolomiaea souliei (scientific name: Dolomiaea souliei) is a plant belonging to the genus Dolomiaea souliei of the Compositae family, all of which are endemic to China. It is distributed in Sichuan, Yunnan, Tibet and other places in mainland China. It mostly grows in alpine grasslands and shrubs. It is a wild plant and has not been introduced and cultivated manually. The rhizomes of these two plants are important Chinese herbal medicines.
