Asparagus cochinchinensis that we grow in our vegetable gardens or buy at the grocery store is Asparagus officinalis. The root of its relative, wild asparagus (Asparagus cochinchinensis), is used in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The Chinese name of it is Tian Men Dong.
