Medicinal use of Chickweed Wintergreen: The root is emetic. The plant was formerly esteemed as an ingredient in an ointment for treating wounds.


Habitat of the herb: the herb: In pine woods, amongst moss in grassy places, usually rooting in humus.
Propagation of Chickweed Wintergreen: Seed - we have no information for this species but suggest sowing the seed in spring in a cold frame. When they are large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and plant them out in early summer. If you have sufficient seed it could be worthwhile trying an outdoor sowing in situ in mid spring.
